Cynthia Rylant made a really boring story "Checkouts" I believe that this story was tediously long.In my opinion the characters were boring because they didn't act, they didn't did something, which make the plot long and boring.
The plot was tediously long because because anything happen. Honestly I was expecting that the 2 characters (Red hair girl and the boy) talk to each other, or at least the girl should have go to his check out line, but she didn't. I also think that the plot was tediously long because of the characters, they didnt talk to each other (this was what we were waiting for). In conclusion the plot was long because of those small and big details that make it long and boring.
The characters were boring because they were flat and static. I believe the characters were static because they never changed their opinion about talking to each other, they never had the courage to ask to the other if they wanted to go out or something. They were also kind of flat because the only thing we knew about their personality was that they were shied and they like each other, if the characters are flat the story becomes a little boring because we don't know much about them. I conclude that the biggest problem of this story was their characters.
